ESL Program
Sacred Heart is one of a number of ESL centres in our board. Students who qualify for ESL support are assigned to a school based on ESL boundaries. There are 5 levels of ESL classes (A, B, C, D, E) as well as a number of subject classes offered for ESL students. Exact offerings each year depend on enrolment and student needs.
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM)
A Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements to graduate from secondary school. It also assists in their transition after graduation to apprenticeship training, college, university or the workplace.
